Between 1st -31st May 2020, we commenced our Children's Artwork Project. Our aim was to create a book by and for children that gave them the opportunity present their perspectives and experiences of having to stay at home during the coronavirus pandemic. We invited children or grandchildren or close kin and friends (up to 18yrs) of members of the network to participate.
Using an online platform we invited children to share an image of their artwork (e.g. drawing, poetry, stories, letters, collage, LEGO and other creative play resources).
Fifty-five children from 17 different countries, aged 4-14yrs, submitted artwork. Their experiences reflect different levels of having to stay at home; some children were still able to attend school while others have experienced more intense lockdown.
We share their images, stories and poems with you. Each child (and their parent/carer) gave their permission for their name (or pseudonym), age, artwork and accompanying text to be shared within the book.
Please feel free to download and/or share their book with other children, parents and colleagues. This book is covered by a Creative Commons licence [CC BY-NC-ND], so you are not allowed to change the book in any way and it may not be reproduced for commercial purposes.
